MOBSTERS USA

Baltimore
Jimmy “The Turk” Scott
Jimmy “The Turk” Scott was a Baltimore bail bondsman and a member of the Maryland House of Delegates. In 1973 he was under federal indictment for conspiracy to transport 40 pounds of heroin from NY to Baltimore. Someone assumed he would talk. They killed him, shot him to death on July 13, 1973 as he walked through his apartment house parking garage.
A group calling itself “Black October,” claimed responsibility for the murder in a flyer spread by Scott’s body. The hand-written message proclaimed that the state delegate was taken out because: “Selling drugs is an act of treason. The penalty for treason is death.”
Eventually Sherman Woodrow Dobson was arrested for the murder but was found not guilty.
